Mommy, he's copying me!

I'm so tired of patent law and it's attendant disputes. Even though the concept is frightening to a lot of people, I think Benjamin Franklin was right in opposing patents.

Here Here! I couldn't agree with you more! And it especially applies to the crafting industry! I'm so tired of designers trying to "copyright" ideas that have been around forever!!!

Ahhh, yes. The old "Copyright = Patent" fallacy. That fire has been raging on the Ravelry forums since day one, I believe. As I understand it, cpyright, in the case of patterns for useful objects, protects only the written expression of the pattern.
